Google launches Fiber Phone

Google has recently launched an interesting Fiber service called Fiber Phone, which is a home phone service that will only be available in select Fiber areas, for now. The service will five you unlimited local and nationwide calling for only $10 a month as well as the same affordable international rates that Google Voice has. There is also call waiting, caller ID and 911 services included, as well.

According to a post from Google: "For $10/month, you get unlimited local and nationwide calling, and the same affordable rates as Google Voice for international calls. You can keep your old phone number, or pick a new one. You can use call waiting, caller ID, and 911 services just as easily as you could before. Fiber Phone can also make it easier to access your voicemail—the service will transcribe your voice messages for you and then send as a text or email."

As mentioned above, Fiber Phone will only be available in cos in select Fiber cities. Google is planning to roll the service out to other cities over time to all residents who have Fiber.

The installation kit for Google's Fiber Phone includes a Fiber Phone box that installs to the user's existing home phone hardware that is compatible for the service. Click the source link to get more updates on Google's Fiber Phone.
