The Kindle Oasis is a new £270 e-reader

Amazon, the company behind a lot of great tech products like the Voice controlled Echo speaker, the kindle readers, and not-so-successful fire phone has been on the news lately. A few days ago the company released the Kindle Oasis, the successor to the kindle voyager. The device is due for release on April 27th but this is what we know so far:

The Kindle Oasis comes with a 6 inch Paperwhite E-ink display at 300 pixels per inch, which the company claims has no glare “even in direct sunlight” therefore making reading easier. The device is thin (3.4 mm) and light (133g) while still fitting in a battery large enough to last for about eight weeks with certain adjustments. The onboard storage is 4GB with free cloud storage for Amazon content. The device comes in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi with 3G enabled variants but Amazon pays for all 3G usages in supported regions. It also has a leather charging cover in the box; now the leather cover is able to hold and supply power to the kindle when on the go giving the Kindle a long lasting battery life. The cover would also charge simultaneously when the device is plugged in. When the device is released there would be some more information especially about the internal hardware which we don’t know much about yet. The Kindle Oasis comes at a price of £270 ($290) which many have argued is too high for such a device. What do you think? Leave a comment and connect with us on any of our social media pages.
