Tech company LeEco (formerly LeTv) has recently taken a place in its country of origin, China. With a very wide array of products and involvements from eco-agriculture, gadgets, electric vehicles and commerce, the company seems to be making strides to become one of Asia’s big tech giants.

With the advent of USB type-C and with Android-powered smartphones adopting the standard so quickly, LeEco has taken a bold step to release three smartphones with USB-C ports to be used for headphones instead of the conventional 3.5mm jacks. There were rumours recently about how likely it was that Apple would ditch the standard 3.5mm jacks for a single unified port supporting both chargers and headphones; LeEco seems to have done this with the Le 2, Le 2 Pro, and the Le Max 2 which were all released at a single event.

Inside the Le Max 2 is a Snapdragon 820, 3100mAh battery supporting quick charge 3.0, fingerprint scanner, 64GB of storage and a whopping 6GB of RAM. The camera seems to hold up quite well, at 21MP (with OIS) on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front. The Le 2 will set you back about $170 whiles the Le 2 Pro would sell for $230 and the Max goes for $385 approximately. Perhaps the switch to one universal port will become the new standard. What do you think?
