Mac OS X could be renamed to MacOS

Apple recently dropped a huge hint that they could be rebranding the Mac OS X name to MacOS. The slip-up was noticed on Apple's new environmental webpage in where they honor Earth Day 2016, by listing how they evaluate product life spans.

According to Apple's Website: "Years of use, which are based on first owners, are assumed to be four years for MacOS and tvOS devices and three years for iOS and watchOS devices"

We shouldn't be too surprised that Apple could be going down this route, as they are starting to move towards a uniform naming scheme. For example, they removed the iconic 'i" from their newer hardware and software names.

There has been more evidence that Apple is moving towards rebranding OS X to MacOS, as an OS X framework file contained the new name has been leaked, as well as this quote from apple down below.

While this is still a rumor, the rebranding could be proven true at Apple's annual WWDC developers conference in June. WE will let you know what happens, so stay tuned to TechDependent as we will have more coverage of the event when the time comes.
