Lately, the virtual reality stage has been popular among tech fanatics. The HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and a few others have made the waves. Virtual reality does bring a whole new experience to the technology scene and its possibilities can’t be numbered. Starting at $100, a lot of people are jumping on the virtual reality ship; once production costs go down we can expect VR sets to be quite common especially as a source of entertainment.

Samsung, arguably the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer teamed up with Facebook’s own Oculus to produce the Gear VR headset. The device works in conjunction with Samsung smartphones to bring the virtual reality experience to end users. This may change soon as Samsung now plans to produce is own standalone, untethered virtual reality headset. This would eliminate the need for a smartphone in order to have the full experience. What’s more, Samsung intends on adding motion tracking capabilities to enhance the whole VR experience. This could be the virtual reality headset that could change everything. What do you think?
