TiVo comes back into headlines when we learn the company Rovi will be purchasing it
Remember TiVo? It was somewhat the original DVR, now with almost everyone having a DVR included with their cable box, TiVo isn't used as much. We have now learned that the company Rovi, which is a patent empire with thousands of patents acquired, will be purchasing TiVo.
The deal will be around $1.1 million with some cash, and some stock. TiVo and Rovi will just be known as TiVo when the deal is complete. The deal will be finished in the third quarter of 2016.
When the well-known TiVo combines with Rovi's patent power, this company now has the potential to release great new products. We will keep you updated on TiVo's next move as a refreshed company.
