HTC’s mid-range smartphone the Desire 830 has finally been unveiled in Taiwan alongside the Desire 825. Just like last year’s Desire 820, it has the same plastic build and bright colors. The front-facing BoomSound speakers have gotten a small change.
The Desire 830 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, an octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 chipset clocked at 1.5GHz, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. The Desire 830 is the first of HTC’s mid-range smartphones to feature OIS on the 13-megapixel rear facing camera. For the front-facing camera, it has a 4-megapixel UltraPixel sensor and both cameras have an aperture of f/2.0.
The Desire 830 has 2,800mAh battery instead of the 2,600mAh battery found in last year’s Desire 820. It will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Mediatek’s new Pump Express Plus charging technology might be supported as well.
The HTC Desire 830 is only available in Taiwan on May 6, however, it might become available in other regions the next couples of months. The Desire 820 is priced at NT$9,990, which is about $310. At the moment, they are only available in two colors: orange and blue.
