The Italian national police force has a lot more important plans for this all-new 191-mph Alpha Romeo sedan. The company have introduced two new police versions of the car that will be used to not only catch law-breakers, but to also transport items for emergency medical services - such as organs and blood.

The Giulia is another example of an Italian performance car transformed into a police car. You might be imagining police will jump into the car to speed through the streets of Milan cutting down on criminals, but no. The Alfa Romeo Giulias will only be added to the police fleet for less action-packed cases. Instead of tearing apart local roads and chasing the bad guys, only two models of the Giulia Quadrifoglio will (as stated previously) transport organs and blood for emergency medical use, additionally serve as ceremonial escort cars for special occasions.

Italy's police version consists of the average police gadgets such as radios and lights, LED flashlights in the doors, a portable defibrillator, a dedicated tablet for police computing, and of course the world-famous round signalling flags that Italian police are well-known for. The Quadrifolgio is at the top of 2017's Alfa Romeo Giulia fleet, boasting a 505 horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine that is empowered with the ability to jump from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
Readers in the US can get their hands on one when it is eventually available in dealerships at the latter segment of 2016 or early stages of next year. The price tags will be around $40,000 for the base model, to $70,000 for the Quadrifoglio trim. Useful or over-the-top?
