Samsung Galaxy S8 concept designs look promising
Smartphone giant Samsung recently released their flagship Galaxy S7 device which comes with a beautiful design and exemplar specs - however it isn't much of an update from it's predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S6 which came out in 2015. Although it is way too early to have any knowledge about a potential Galaxy S8 smartphone, artist Steel Drake has produced a new concept design that gives us an imagination of what we could possibly see next year.
The concept designs are pretty much immaculate and a brilliant prediction of what Samsung's future smartphones could look like. The appearance of the concept Galaxy S8 boasts Samsung's flexible OLED and an all-metal frame curved around the body. Thanks to these physical features, it gives the smartphone a modern and futuristic appearance.
It's evident that the top and bottom bezels are attenuated. This may be a good thing but it only consists of enough space for a logo and a front-facing camera - ditching Samsung's well-known physical home button, app drawer, and back button.
Some new components that the concept Galaxy S8 utilises are a built-in projector (in the flash module on the back). This might not actually be possible, but new inventions and technologies within smartphones could lead us closer. Also, the device's fingerprint scanner has been transferred to the back, and this is probably because of the lack of space on the front. Surprisingly, Steel Drake chose to remove the charging port of the smartphone, and replace it entirely with wireless charging instead.
In retrospect, the concept design gives us an impressive idea of what Samsung could introduce next year, but it will definitely be even more exciting to see more leaks, rumours, and concepts of the South Korean tech giant's next flagship.
