In a blog post this morning, European tech company Opera unveiled yet another new feature for their Opera browser on PC, a power saving mode that promises 50% more battery life than Google Chrome. Not so long ago we reported on the addition of a native ad blocker for Opera browsers which got the general public happy. Opera Software had previously released a VPN service inbuilt for the PC version of Opera Browser along with minor but very essential tweaks and ‘facelifts’. Both features were initially available through the developer edition of the browser which seems to function seamlessly well as an everyday browser.

Today Opera is proud to announce power saving mode in the Opera browser for PC. The new feature promises to “extend your laptop battery life by up to 50% compared with, for example, Google Chrome” according to the company. The new feature adds a battery button beside the search bar and would automatically recommend turning on power saving mode once the battery is low. How exactly does the power saving mode work? There are minimum background processes running, pausing of plug-ins, pausing of animations and reduction in frame rates. There also seem to be improvements in the VPN service added in the latest developer edition. Hit the source link below to check out the blog post and download Opera browser.
