Samsung's Galaxy Note 6 to be launched in August according to Evan Blass

It doesn’t seem like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were announced long ago, but rumours are already trickling down the pipeline regarding Samsung’s “Next Big Thing.” That “big thing” being Samsung’s upcoming Note 6 line.

This year, the Note line is expected to consist of up to three devices, the Note 6, the Note 6 Edge and a cheaper Note 6 Lite. But aside from what the lineup will look like, many of you may be wondering when the devices will actually be announced.

Well, according to serial leaker Evan Blass (known as @evleaks on Twitter) Samsung will make the unveiling towards mid-august, just like the company did last year with the Note 5 and S6 Edge+.

The Note 5 and S6 Edge+ were both introduced on August 13, 2015 in New York. The announcement came as a surprise to many as Samsung has historically been a company that follows the same schedule when it came to Note line announcements, with most taking place in September at IFA. Now though, it seems Samsung has decided on August as being the new Note announcement month, most likely to beat Apple out of the gate and steal some of its sales before the iPhone is announced.

Regarding the features expected on the Note 6, a similar design to the Galaxy S7 is highly likely, along with waterproofing, USB Type-C, a BlackBerry Hub-like app called Focus and the upcoming Snapdragon 823 processor alongside 6GB’s of RAM.
