New NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet appears at the FCC

When it comes to finding out details regarding upcoming devices, FCC is probably one of the best places to look. The latest device to come through FCC appears to be an upcoming NVIDIA device, specifically a new tablet.

This new tablet (product number: P2290W) appears to be the long awaited successor to the company’s SHIELD Tablet and SHIELD Tablet K1. Obviously, the company has wanted to keep the majority of details secret, which explains the company’s filing of the Request for Confidentiality slip. But, nonetheless, some details have emerged.

First of all, the dimensions of the tablet are 8.58x4.84x0.31-inches. As well as the dimensions, the weight has also filtered through; in this case the tablet weighs in at 350g. Aside from size and weight though, other features also leaked such as the fact the tablet features a 5,100 mAh battery, along with a microUSB port, dual-band WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth LE connectivity.

Other than these details though, nothing else has emerged from the filling. So there is still a lot to learn about this device before it’s released, that’s if it ever is of course. As with all FCC filings, it could be quite a wait before any official announcement is made.

What are your hopes regarding the tablet? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to stay tuned for all the latest tech news.
