This is Samsung's new Charm

MWC 2016 (Mobile World Congress) in February saw Samsung announce a new and modern and fashionable fitness tracker called Charm. At the current time, Samsung's all-new Charm is very close to its commercial introduction. In comparison to Samsung's Gear Fit device, this new wearable is slightly more artistic and innovative.

The South Korean electronics giant have chosen to launch the Charm in Korea, Italy, France, and Russia, and plan on expanding on other markets in the future, too. Samsung believe that the Charm appears more like a "piece of jewellery" than a piece of wearable tech. With a square face consisting of circle edges, the fitness tracker is available in Gold, Black, and Rose Quartz which look pretty trendy.

Some of the features that the Charm boasts are that it can monitor the total number of steps that the user has taken in a day, allows you to access and use tools on Samsung's S Health, and provides notifications on incoming phone calls, text messages, and social media updates, etc. All this an many other things can be done with its rechargeable 17mAh battery which can apparently operate for up to 2 weeks utilising all the energy from a single charge. In order to use the device, you'll need to sync Charm with their smartphones via the "Charm by Samsung" app.

Charm utilises LED notifications to inform the user of incoming calls, text messages, and of course push notifications from apps that are selected in the Charm app for your smartphone. The notifications which can be colour-coded are empowered with the ability to display details regarding connectivity, battery level and charging. The fitness tracker is compatible with smartphones operating on Android 4.4 or later versions. There hasn't been any word on the pricing or where you can get your hands on one - but we'll be the first to notify you.
