Allo and Duo are Google’s all-new intelligent and creative apps

Google has just announced an all-new messaging app, Allo. The app has the Google Assistant built right in. With Google’s latest strides in Machine learning and AI, it’s not a surprise that the app comes with such features. Users sign up with their phone numbers just like many other mobile messaging apps out there.

It also comes with “Whispershout”, a new feature that allows users to slide the send button to increase or decrease the reply depending on how they feel. What’s more you can set up a a conversation with a Google bot, playing games such as 'Guess What Movie This Is' with the bot and asking questions as you would with Google’s assistant.

The app can also automatically suggest replies to received photos which is amazing. Finally, Allo has an incognito mode with all conversations deleted after a chat, similar to that in Telegram and other apps.

Google also announced a video chat app called "Duo". Duo is a two-way video messaging app that features end to end encryption and works on even slow networks according to Google. The app presents a live view of the caller and what they are doing, allowing you to see them and what they are doing before picking up. This is a new feature not yet seen in any video chat app.

The two apps are to be released in the summer. What do you think of Google’s new apps? Are they a replacement for Hangouts, iMessage or the other popular messaging apps out there? Be sure to leave your thoughts below and stay on our website for all the latest updates from the event!
