Google I\O shows us "Fire Base" and "Instant Apps"

Just today, Ellie Powers and Jason Titus told us about Instant Apps and Fire Base. Ellie followed the demonstration of Firebase, a company Google acquired 18 months ago which allows you to store your app data and sync it across several operating systems including Android, IOS, etc. 450,000 developers are currently using it. But now, Firebase helps you develop, build, and grow your app. This is a great new service that gives lots of data such as what parts of the app your users are using, etc. Developers are going to love this free service that is compatible with IOS and Android.

After Fire Base, we learned about Instant Apps which allows you to use apps without actually downloading them. One of the problems with mobile browsing on the web is that you don't get the full features of the desktop website. Usually, apps can solve this problem but some apps take up to much space or just aren't worth downloading.

One of the examples Ellie Powers gave us was using the B&H app, a popular New York-based camera retailer. She said, "You don't buy a camera every day." So you might not have the app downloaded, which is where instant apps come in handy. You can just search for the camera you want on Google, then when you click on the link you will be brought into the B&H app, to that specific camera. From here you can look at the camera, see specs and even checkout using Android Pay without even downloading the app!

Instant Apps will be available later this year, and lots of apps are expected to be using this new service. The new version of Fire Base is available now. What do you think of these new services? Let us know in the comments below. Stay tuned for more coverage on this event.
