Say hi to the new Google Assistant revealed at I/O 2016

Yesterday we saw tech giant Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai at the Google I/O 2016 event introducing a wide-range of products, and one of them is the "Google Assistant."

Pichai concisely demonstrated how the Google Assistant operates, and it is very evident that it works similarly to how Google Now does. One of the intelligent and cool things you can do is stand in front of a building and then ask Google Assistant, "Who designed it?" and receive an answer immediately. Considering the fact that we're still in the early stages during the Google I/O event it is hard to identify whether or not this is an all-new product or just an update to the well-known “OK Google” personal assistant.

Pichai also believes that this is just the start of a long "journey" that empowers Google to make life more easier for consumers. Furthermore, he stated that Google has the intention to learn more about context. So for example, if you ask Google Assistant “What’s playing tonight?”, It'll be able to recommend and suggest movies that you like and then follow-up and regularly ask you questions like; "Do you want to see kid-friendly movies?" "Do you want to buy tickets?" As a result, if you choose to do so, Google Assistant will then allow you to purchase tickets via a further conversation.

At the current time, there isn't any news out on how soon the new Google Assistant will be living in all Android devices, but it'll be exciting to see how the new product develops and enhances the consumer lifestyle. Stay tuned as we bring you all the latest news and updates from Google I/O 2016!
