Samsung has not given up on Android Wear just yet

Recently there were reports about Samsung bringing its collaboration with Android Wear to an end. This was put out by the Fast Company website a few days ago. With Samsung focusing on its own unpopular Tizen OS for its smartwatches, it seems quite believable that the OEM might indeed ditch Android Wear if it already hasn’t. Some people might consider Samsung’s competitors working with Android Wear on smartwatches and the recent release of version 2.0 as reason enough for Sammy to keep up with the Android Wear platform.

A statement by Samsung has denied the recent rumours and allegations concerning its break away from Android Wear. The company stated:

“Samsung has not made any announcement concerning Android Wear and we have not changed our commitment to any of our platforms”

This loosely means Samsung has not officially cut ties with Android Wear just yet but this does not mean fans should eagerly expect smartwatches running Android Wear soon. It seems to be a plausible idea that the company might venture into Android Wear in the case of Tizen OS not being able to ake a break. What do you think of the announcement by Samsung?
