OnePlus permanently reduces prices of OnePlus One, 2 and X

Chinese company OnePlus, famed for its OnePlus One and 2 devices and its unpopular invite system has a new announcement for everyone.

From today onwards, the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X have all received a permanent $50 price drop across the globe.

The company’s official website says “We’ve got good news for all OnePlus fans: starting today, we’re lowering the price on all of our smartphones. Our focus remains on providing the best possible smartphone experience for you, and what better way than this? We’re all in this together, after all.”

As well as the price drop being applicable to new purchases, it is applicable retroactive as well, meaning that if a buyer purchased any of OnePlus’s devices over the last 2 weeks, the company will reduce the price of these handsets as well, thanks to the retroactive period covering the last 14 days.

In case you are wondering what the new prices are exactly, well the OnePlus 2 in Sandstone Black with 64GB of storage will now be available for just $299. The OnePlus X, on the other hand, is now available for $199 in the Champagne version. As of now though, the OnePlus One is currently out of stock and it is unknown if the company has any plans of restocking it, considering the OnePlus 3 is just around the corner.

Speaking about the OnePlus 3, the announcement is set for June 14 and the company will make use of VR to launch the new flagship. As well as this, the company has seemingly got rid of its controversial invite system, meaning interested buyers should be able to order the OnePlus 3 online hassle free.

As far as specs are concerned, the device will allegedly feature an AMOLED 5.5-inch display with a 1080x1920p resolution. On the inside, a Snapdragon 820 is expected alongside 3GB or 4GB of RAM with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage respectively.
