AMD sneaks up on Intel

This week at Computex, we have seen lots of new processors, and today AMD stepped up their game.

Intel has always been a step ahead of AMD but now that may change. The fastest chip announced by AMD this year has reached a 56% increase from last years. Even their lower end chips announced this year still increases 52% compared to last generation. After 7 generations it looks like they are starting to catch up with Intel. According to Engadget, AMG's new fastest processor is 53% better when it comes to graphics, compared to Intel's fastest mobile core i7 chip.

Power effifency, as it is for many companies was also considered with these news chips. The fastest new chips are 12% more power efficient, according to AMD. The mid-tier processor, the A9 is said to use 41% less power while running 1080p video. The lower end processors also got small upgrades to boost them up slightly.

The clock speeds have also gone up, their fastest FX processor now comes standard with 3GHz, and the lower ends come with at least 2GHz the mid-tier A9, according to Engaget is 1.3GHz faster then the Intel Core i3
