At Computex today, Intel has unveiled a new CPU that is going to be the most powerful yet on personal computer systems. With electronic sports being one of the largest growing fields in online entertainment, the need for good CPUs that can handle resource intensive applications is a growing slowly. From Steam gaming to Twitch streaming, Video recording and editing applications, current high-end processors seem to be holding up well but perhaps a boost in performance wouldn’t be bad. In this light, Intel unveiled a new variant of its core i7 CPU.

The Extreme Core i7 is codenamed “Broadwell-E” a variant of the Broadwell family of CPU architecture. The Extreme i7 has ten cores to boost multitasking and high-intensity applications and processes, what Intel calls “mega-tasking”. The device has Intel’s Turbo Max Boost technology inbuilt which assigns CPU intensive processes to the fastest core on the CPU, thereby maximizing performance. Device tinkerers don’t have to worry much as the CPU comes unlocked so overclocking would be a breeze. There’s one bummer, the CPU starts at $1723 which may be quite expensive for the average user. Hopefully, it packs a punch enough to deserve its price; hit the source article below to see technical specs of Extreme i7. What do you think? Leave a comment.
