Samsung announces the Gear Fit 2
After many leaks and rumors, Samsung finally released their Gear Fit 2 and their first truly wireless pair of earbuds named the Gear IconX earbuds. Both products are of course, targeted at the fitness market. The Gear Fit 2 has reportedly cut down on the bulk from the first Gear Fit and has more precise activity tracking, whilst the Gear IconX will keep you entertained with your choice of music on the go.
The Gear Fit 2 is set to give you feedback on your workouts and monitor your activity more precisely. It comes with a dedicated music player and it also contains a GPS, perfect for those out cycling or jogging. As mentioned before, Samsung has released two new products and they are designed to work in harmony with each other.
The new wearable features a Super AMOLED curved touchscreen display. It is set to be more responsive than its predecessor and can be used to check your notifications, monitor your activity live or even to simply switch songs without whipping out your mobile device. Unlike the first Gear Fit where you had to specifically tell the watch about what you were going to do, the Gear Fit 2 automatically detects it and syncs perfectly with the dedicated fitness app engineered by the tech giants themselves; Samsung, named S Health. Alongside the launch of the wearable, there will be a new update to Samsung’s fitness app where an individual is able to share his/her workouts with his/her friends and they can get a bit more competitive and/or motivated.
Being a current owner I do not particularly enjoy using the Gear Fit. The redesigned Gear Fit 2 looks much more comfortable and certainly seems to do a better job than the Gear Fit with many things. At least on paper anyway… Will you be purchasing one? Let us know in the comment section below!
