Xiaomi to bundle Microsoft products with its smartphones

Microsoft seems to be aggressively trying to gain a larger market share in terms of service usage; from making Skype a default app on Windows 10, to developing its own IFTTT-like service, Microsoft seems to be pushing further into the software market. Currently there are over 50 essential Microsoft apps developed for the Android in the Google Play Store. Previously Microsoft had made patent trading agreements with other OEMs such as Samsung, Asus and Sony to preload Microsoft Office productivity apps on their mobile devices, allowing it to reach a larger audience.

Microsoft has once again struck a deal with Xiaomi, one of the top five smartphone makers in the world to preload Windows apps onto their smartphones. Specifically, Xiaomi would be including Microsoft Office and Skype as a default bundle on its Mi range of smartphones and the Redmi 3 as well as Redmi Note 3. This may not be as bad since many smartphone users use Office on their Windows PCs, allowing for seamless integration between both platforms. Others might also consider the addition of these apps as bloatware but what do you think. Leave a comment below or connect with us on any of our social media pages.
