Leaked Macbook Pro unibody reveals redesign
We've known that Apple has been planning to redesign the iPhone 7 to make it thinner for a while now. And not that long ago, we got reports that Apple has been planning on redesigning the Macbook Pro, the first time in four years. However, up until now, we haven't had a picture to see the changes. Thankfully, some pictures obtained the Cult of Mac reveals what the design could be.
The said pictures reveal the aluminum chassis of the Macbook before final assembly. It is important to note that if the pictures are indeed real, Apple could be close to choosing a final product design with a release set for later this year.
The rumor for the redesigned Macbook included an OLED bar replacing the function keys up top, and that seems to line up with the pictures. Additionally, the chassis shows four USB-C and/or Thunderbolt 3 ports, alongside a headphone jack. Interestingly, Apple is seeming to ditch any other connections such as the MagSafe 2 connector, HDMI port, and no SD card slot. It seems as though Apple is building off of the success of the Macbook with only one USB-C port.
Also, the leaked pictures reveal speakers at the side, which is interesting because it looks like to be a 13-inch model, and the current Macbook Pro 13-inch doesn't have speakers on the side, but on the bottom instead. If the design is true, users could be getting a more complete and fuller sound than the previous model.
As the case with most if not all Apple rumors and leaks, we need to take everything with a grain of salt until Apple makes it official, which could be sometime later this year. We will update you when the time comes, so stay tuned to TechDependent for more information.
