Microsoft would rather power autonomous vehicles

Redmond has announced its support for self-driving vehicles in a recent announcement at a conference in China. The company which has the Windows operating system at the heart of its operations has revealed its plans of going into the software that powers these autonomous vehicles. Tesla has already taken the lead with functional car models that provide auto piloting features and seamless navigation. The benefits of autonomous vehicles are many as research has shown they help cut down the number of road accidents by a significant amount.

Microsoft has explicitly stated it does not want to produce self-driving cars but would rather develop software to work and integrate with the vehicles. Assuming this works well, cars could be an extension of the office where a lot of productivity can take place. This news comes as no surprise since a lot of vehicle manufacturers have jumped onto the autonomous vehicle production bandwagon with support from other tech companies such as Google and the likes. What do you think of the announcement made by Microsoft? Leave a comment.
