Microsoft released the Band 2 in October 2015. The band works well for tracking heart rate, walking and running, calorie burning and sleep monitoring; the band also provides the ability to see messages, calls and other alerts from a smartphone. Microsoft also has a native app on most non-Windows platforms for pairing with the device. The Microsoft Band 2 allows voice commands to be sent from the device on Windows phones, a feature all Android devices have not received.

The software giant has released an update to the Microsoft Health app that allows voice controlling Cortana through the Microsoft Band. The requirement for using this feature is to have Cortana installed on the Android device. The Microsoft Health app works seamlessly with Cortana to bring voice commands to Android. It must be noted that the feature is available only in the US. Have you updated your Health app? Leave a comment.
