You can now upload videos in Facebook comments

If you're a user of Facebook, you'll now have the ability to leave videos as comments on any post or status update. Instead of typing a comment, you can click on the camera icon in the comment-writing bar. It was naturally used only for users to include images, but now the social networking giant has tweaked it in order for users to upload videos in comments.

This new element of Facebook's Android, iOS, and normal website has been prototyped in one whole day, complemented by the company's 50th Hackathon event which took place a few months ago. Bob Baldwin, a Facebook engineer stated that it was "no small feat to add support across interfaces and within two heavy traffic services, like comments and videos."

For the past year, Facebook has been concentrating on video aspects of their website; they launched live-streaming capabilities at the start of this year, they created a tab dedicated to videos, as well as partnered-up with publishers so they can include published videos each month. At the end of the day, Facebook have implemented this new feature to empower the user's experience. So do you think this is a great new introduction or a waste?
