Today at WWDC 2016 Apple has announced that it is majorly updating its Messages app for iOS. You will now have the ability to add more fun and interactions to your conversations - and this time it isn't just coloured messages.

Apple now want you to use photos and live video feeds or even add in rich links, don't forget about the emojis. This new update will enhance the emojis to appear three times bigger than normally. There's also going to be an integration of a new emoji search-engine placed in the Messages' keyboard system; this is something very similar to Google's gBoard. On top of this, the keyboard will automatically recognise and highlight "emojiable" words, which basically means that you can simply select a word to exchange it with an emoji. Although this will be exciting for some users, others may find it difficult to determine what the message they've just received actually means.

Moreover, you'll be able to add special and adjustable "bubble effects" that tweak the size of your text, acting as electronic shouts or whispers. Not only this, the app is more interactive and now allows you to include your very own handwriting. Another new feature consists of a bunch of small special effects; we're talking fireworks and strobe lights that transform from texts and briefly expand to cover the whole screen. Last but not least, Apple's new update also boasts the fact that you can add actual handwriting in conversations.

At the current time, these are the selected features involved in the latest update for the Messages app on iOS. But there are a lot more potential features and functions on the way thanks to Apple welcoming developers to start contributing. Are you looking forward to these latest features?
