WatchOS 3 brings major updates to fitness, and can even call 911 for you

This Monday Apple kicked off their annual WWDC event, and with it came the expected large amounts of new software. This includes updates to WatchOS, iOS, tvOS, and the newly named MacOS.

WatchOS 3 looks like a favourable improvement to the device. The users who have been using the device from the start (including me) will be happy to hear that included in the interface update you can now "scribble" text much easier. I know that I've been in a few situations where it's to quiet or loud to use dictation and the smart replies aren't what I'm looking for. This new feature will make it easier for users to communicate through text on the watch.

When you swipe from the bottom of the screen you now have the improved "Dock". This is similar to the widgets that were there before. The "Dock" gives you quick access to your favourite apps. This update also includes new watch faces including a customizable Minnie Mouse face.

Fitness receives the largest update. You can now start workouts quicker and get a little competitive. You share your activity data to your family and friends and compete with added chat feature to share some motivation, or what ever else you like to say in competitions. Similar to the standing reminders, breathing exercises can also be added to relieve stress.

Developers also gain access to much more with this update. The can use the Digital Crown, speaker, etc. This should bring some new apps with more features. Also to prevent us waiting for apps to load, pull data, etc. you watch will update its apps in the background. The idea that everything will be ready to use at your say, is a great one.

Although the full version will be available to everyone in the fall, devolopers can get there hands on it as early as today. What do you think of WatchOS 3? Will it change the way you use your watch? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to check back for all your WWDC news this week.
