The new features in iOS 10 you have been waiting for

Apple’s new version of its mobile operating system, the iOS 10 has a developer version ready for download. The new version sports some new features that many find exciting and should have probably been around since time immemorial. The basic features such as being able to organise music on the device as well as Siri integration with apps are really late to the party. First of all Apple’s iMessage messaging app would play nicely with other apps; users may be to “create and share content, make payments, and more, without leaving Messages”. Maps also received a similar feature where one can perform minor functions within the app, be it calling a Uber, a cab or booking reservations at locations within the app. The new Home app also integrates with smart home appliances to control them with just the Apple device.

Apple also added the ability to wake up the device by just raising it. Perhaps one addition that turns heads is the ability to search Photos by name, location or items in the photo, similar to Google’s own Photos app feature launched a year ago. One another feature you’ll find in iOS 10 is the ability to rediscover “Memories”, similar photos from an event which is awfully similar to the same feature present in Google Photos. The flashlight app can now vary in intensity of light now with just a touch of a button. Other apps such as Skype and WhatsApp can finally show calls and other similar notifications on the lock screen of Apple devices with iOS 10. There are a few more features Apple is finally bringing to iOS 10 but unfortunately, the beta version is open to only developers for now. Are you looking forward to the iOS 10 at the launch of the iPhone 7? Leave a comment.
