Chromebooks have been the staple of affordable and somewhat functional PCs for a while now especially with students. There are various types of Chromebooks available on the market. HP’s own colourful lineup of Chromebooks seem to be popular enough especially as they come with a lower price margin. Recently also, there was a lot of news about native Android app support coming to some select Chromebook series. This represents a huge boost for the lacking app ecosystem of Chrome OS as the number of apps available now is likely to improve dramatically.

HP has announced a slew of new Chromebook devices but this time with touchscreen support. The new Chromebook 11 G5s will feature an 11.6-inch sub-HD display with touchscreen capabilities. There would be an option for a variant that also comes with Gorilla Glass built in. All this with Chrome OS running underneath seems to be promising except it is powered by the low range Intel N3050 processor. Many would argue that the processor is not built to withstand a lot of processing but Intel still promises outstanding performance with the new model. The best surprise about this release is its ability to run Android apps natively, as per the recent announcements. What do you think of the new Chromebook? Leave a comment.
