Google Ads can now be personalised

Ads have been a huge revenue generator online amassing large amounts of money for online services. Google has its own Ads service online which brings together advertisers and customers alike by presenting ads embedded in various web pages. Generally, the ordinary user would see ads from Google, tailored by location and content to maximise the number of potential clicks. Google seems to have the larger share of most online advertisements. Even though ad blockers are becoming very common, many ads still reach a large number of people.

Until recently a user had no influence on the kind of ads that was shown. But this is about to change as Google has now added an option for personalising the kind of app that would be displayed on the sites that a user visits. The new Ads settings tool is now available for customising what kinds of ads to show “across the web” and “on Google”. Without changing any of these settings you would receive the default ads by Google so this is not necessarily a compulsory move for those that feel compelled. This might actually be a good introduction on Google’s part. What do you think? Leave a comment.
