OnePlus 3 prices to increase thanks to Brexit

Last week, everyone woke up to find out that the UK decided to exit the European Union. The leave campaign, Brexit, which is now the official result has consequently led to a high pressure and uncertainty in a variety of industries and markets. And an example is the smartphone industry. Chinese smartphone giant OnePlus is notifying the market that there could be potential increases of the prices of the OnePlus 3 smartphones in the UK.

This is an attempt to beat the high costs in the UK and for OnePlus to keep profits rolling in. Although the increase in price isn't guaranteed, the company has decided to advise prospective shoppers that it is possibly the best idea to purchase the new OnePlus 3 smartphone as soon as possible instead of later on.

It appears to be that OnePlus seems to be quite half-hearted as to whether or not increase the prices of their latest and most successful smartphone. The company had previously made a move like this in the early stages of 2015, due to the Euro dropping to its lowest rate in nine years in comparison to the US dollar.

David Sanmartin, the company's head of marketing in Europe stated; “Currency fluctuations are not your fault, nor our fault,” and that “if we sell at a loss, the simple fact is that there won’t be a OnePlus in the future.” In reality, OnePlus is actually correct, considering the fact that almost every smartphone manufacturer faces extremely thin profit margins.
