LG to reshuffle mobile division due to negative LG G5 sales

Google's Project Ara is still being developed, and this gave LG the advantage to produce the LG G5, an example of a flagship in the modular phones market. LG believed that they had a really good idea regarding the smartphone's innovative module elements. This gave an impression that the smartphone would be simple, straightforward, unique, and easy to use, but the actual results were completely different.

The results were reported to cause LG to dismiss a wide-range of employees and is now planning to restructure its mobile division. In addition, the company will also create a dedicated “program management office” in order to control and monitor product development for the future.

Focusing on smartphones, LG has been very successful with devices such as the LG G3 and G4 - but this wasn't the case with the G5, due to the fact that users aren't exactly quite ready and comfortable to properly use modular smartphones yet.

Now with the story of the LG G5 behind us, we've got Google's interesting and promising Project Ara is set for a January 2017 introduction. Will it do better or worse?
