President Obama and the Senate are no longer using BlackBerry devices

The president of the United States has reportedly ditched his BlackBerry. Now this is a move that is pretty much against his intention and liking. What's even more is that now employees of the Senate are also abandoning assigned BlackBerry smartphones. The reason is that BlackBerry has discontinued many factories, and network providers such as AT&T and Verizon are barely holding onto tiny amounts of inventory.

The Sergeant at Arms forwarded a notice to the Senate administration, stating that Blackberry intend to continue supporting the Q10, Z10, Z30, Passport, and Classic smartphones in the meantime. However, considering the fact that the number of BB10 smartphones being produced is decreasing, we are somewhat coming close to the ending of a BlackBerry era.

Verizon is promising to offer Senate employees an instant upgrade to Samsung's Galaxy S6 smartphone, and the Apple iPhone SE 16GB approved for Senate purposes.
