Android "O" might come with a pair of eyes
Moodstocks, a French company developing recognition software, has recently been purchased by Google, According to Android Authority. This software would allow you to point your camera at something and have you phone recognize what it is.
Google is already working on software similar to this, and it has been released. But as Android Authority reported, there is one big difference. Moodsocks'
software works native on the device, while Google's has servers doing the work, which means Moodstocks' is noticeably faster.
Once Google combines its technologies with Moodstocks', it should come out to a super fast camera recognition software. Android Authority's, Kris Carlon expects this software to be worked into Android soon, maybe as soon as Android "O", the next big release.
Moodstock's software had been available sense 2012 and appears to be noticeably better than Google's. The deal between Moodstock and Google not only gives Google their software, but also Moodstocks' team. So when Google's team and Moodstocks' team combine I can see this being a major Android "O" feature.
