Google recently announced that it was expanding its Android One program to Japan. It's starting with Sharp's first smartphone. Android One is Google's push to bring affordable Android smartphones to rising markets. The pure Android experience will bring quick updates for users who purchase an Android One device. Japan's first Android One device is the Sharp 507SH.
The Sharp 507Sh will launch this month on Y! Mobile. It features a 5-inch 720p IGZO LCD display, an Okutaokoa processor, VoLTE support, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 13-megapixel rear facing camera, and a 3,010mAh battery, which is rated to last up to three days. Another useful feature is water and dust resistance. Google said the Sharp 507SH will receive major Android updates for at least 18 months, which also means they will be receiving Android 7.0 Nougat.
Google hasn't provided exact pricing for the Sharp 507SH, but it should be affordable.
