Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition is official, launching on July 18 from Best Buy

Samsung has recently unveiled a special edition of their newest flagship device for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Samsung announced their Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition, and it will officially launch on July 18 and sold exclusively through Best Buy.

The Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition was unveiled at the Team USA Road to Rio event in Chicago. Samsung also said they will be handing out 12,500 of these devices to all Olympians competing for Team USA. Samsung said in their press release that by giving out these phones, it will "enhance their experiences in Rio and communicate with family and friends around the world more conveniently." Samsung will make the limited edition S7 Edge smartphone available at Best Buy from July 18th. It'll be sold only in the US and exclusively to Best Buy. Samsung also said there will be a limited amount of Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition smartphones available, but they haven't specified the exact number yet.

Samsung isn't just handing out the smartphone to the 2016 US Olympic Team, they're also delivering them to the 2016 US Paralympic Team as well. This is another nice gesture Samsung are doing for the Paralympic Team.

The design is the only difference between the Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition smartphone and the regular S7 Edge, so the specifications for it is the exact same. There's a 5.5-inch curved Super AMOLED QHD display, the 820 Snapdragon processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 3,600mAh battery. It has a 12-megapixel rear facing camera, which many reviewers believe it is the camera available on a smartphone right now. It will be available from Best Buy stores in the US from July 18th.
