Sprint gets rids of 'Galaxy Forever' upgrade program for Galaxy S7 Edge
While Sprint hasn't made any announcements about the removal of the 'Galaxy Forever' program, FierceWireless has confirmed with multiple Sprint stores that the program is no longer being offered with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge devices. On Sprint's website, it still shows that a 24-month option is available for the Galaxy S7, but it's not available for the S7 Edge.
If you're unfamiliar with the 'Galaxy Forever' program by Sprint, the promotion launched at the same time as the launch of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It's a 24-month lease option to finance one of the devices. You do pay a bit less each month than you would with other plans, but the only catch is that Sprint still owns the smartphone even if you do pay for the whole two years. This is because every customer of the 'Galaxy Forever' program has the option to return the phone after 12 months to Sprint in exchange for a new one.
Right now, a more traditional 24-month plan is available for the S7 Edge, where you can pay between $0 and $150 (depending on your credit) up-front and the remaining balance over the full two years, however, you don't get the perk of upgrading to a new phone every year.
