There is most probably a Gear VR successor on the way

The Gear VR has only been released for two months, but there are plenty of flaws and things that need to change. People have been asking for a new Gear VR and today, a dutch Samsung fan site found a new model number, which could mean that there is a new Gear VR successor on the way.
Some of the flaws that people were complaining about are that their Galaxy Note phone is too big, and the Note 6 will come with a USB-C connector and the Gear VR uses micro USB.
An Indian import database showed a model number which was SM-R323, the current Gear VR has the model number: SM-R322 and the older Galaxy S6 Gear VR has the model number SM-R321. This points to a new Gear VR on the way.
