The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) of South Korea has come to a conclusion in their long investigation into Qualcomm. It doesn't look good for Qualcomm as this 17-month investigation may come to an end with Qualcomm paying a fine up to $900,000,000 (1 trillion won). According to Android Authority, the final verdict will be revealed on July 20th which is this Thursday.
Qualcomm is facing these fines because of the overcharging of Korean manufacturers in their licensing deals. Android Authority reports, "Qualcomm has unfairly collected 1 trillion won from Korean manufacturers like Samsung and LG each year." It looks like Qualcomm really is wrapped up in this one. What do you think the final verdict will be? Let us know in the comments below.
