The company Dead Zebra is known for making its Android figures. They have now teamed up with a woodworker in New York City to create a small amount of figurines that will be made out of solid wood. A handful of them will be available at Comic-Con, with some more coming out later this year.

Each of the figurines is 5-inches tall and thanks to its natural wood patterns, they all have a unique design. This edition of figures is made from a combination of regionally sourced certified white oak and maple woods. It's covered with a natural shellac and beeswax, which give it a nice soft and polished look. It's made of 100% wood, so all of the joints can be easily disassembled for cleaning, storage or conditioning.

Dead Zebra has actually been making these wooden figurines for over 4 years now with the same NYC-based woodworker NoliNoli (aka Ken Como). Over those 4 years, they've all gone to Google employees and close friends, but they've never gone into the hands of the public. Dead Zebra is now bringing the wooden figures available starting at the San Diego Comic-Con next week.

If you're going to SDCC this year, and you want to pick one up, stop at Dead Zebra's booth (Dumbrella #1335), however, don't worry if you're not going because the company plans to sell another small amount online later this year.
