Samsung has given more and more effort into making their phones water-resistant and water-proof. Samsung first begin to make water resistant phones using their Galaxy Active models. The Galaxy Active models are supposed to be Samsung's "everything proof." smartphone. To get the point across, the Galaxy Active models even have military colors to represent the strength of the phone.

The newest Active model is the S7 Active and Samsung made this phone to be durable against anything life throws at it. But some consumer reports found a problem with the device. The Active model this year is having issues with Water-Resistancy. Consumer Reports tested two Galaxy S7 Active units in a pressure vessel, simulating a depth of "just under 5 feet" for 30 minutes. The phones seemed to suffered water damage, mainly in the displays and power buttons. The water manage to enter both camera lenses and the SIM tray after the test.

Samsung said this is "one of the most rugged phone up-to-date." But after this test, they seem to have fallen back a little and said they will investigate the issue. Samsung is standing behind their word and is willing to replace any S7 Active that has water damage issues. But they do recommend people to buy S7 or S7 Edge instead for better under water experience.
