Apple's iPhone 7 launch week revealed

According to Evan Blass (known as EvLeaks by his Twitter handle), Apple is planning to unveil the iPhone 7 in the week of September 12. If this is true, it means that the flagship device is only about six weeks away from its launch. In 2015, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were available in stores towards the end of September, and it seems that Apple wants to speed things up this year.

Assuming Evan Blass' information is accurate and the iPhone 7 does come out in the week of September 12 – it's likely on Friday, September 16, which assumes Apple will hold the event a week before on Tuesday, September 6, which is a day after Labor Day in the U.S.

There is no major evidence to back up Blass', but the timing does seem right. There have been several leaks and rumors over the last couple of weeks, implying that manufacturing overseas is already under way. Blass revealed the supposed code names for Apple's flagships earlier this week, Sonora and Dos Palos.

Based on previous rumors, we're expecting the iPhone 7 to feature a larger camera, redesigned antenna bands, and no 3.5mm headphone jack. A rumor showed up yesterday claiming the iPhone 7 Plus will have a dual-camera setup, tow speakers for stereo sound, 3GB of RAM and possibly a Smart Connector, which is currently featured on the iPad Pro.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the week of September 12.
