The images you can see above have been sent to GSMArena by one of their readers - but what smartphone could it be? Reports suggest that it is the Sony Xperia F8331, the company's 2016 flagship smartphone.
The smartphone's design indicates that it is much different to the current Z series. What's more is that this new F8331 device will be sitting at the top with Xperia X Performance features as well as a bigger 1080p screen, and even 4K cameras on both the front and rear elements.
Sony have decided to utilise a screen with a flat surface on the top and bottom and curved left and right sides. The rear camera layout now consists of a dual-LED flash element, and there's also a panel at the bottom. The body looks like it boasts a brushed-metal coat.
If you've been eyeing the previous Sony Xperia Z smartphones, you'll easily recognise this new device, thanks to its front-facing stereo speakers, complemented by the NFC antenna which is located close to the earpiece.
On the bottom of the device, there is a USB-C charging port which is essentially brand-new for Sony's smartphones. The F8331 hasn't ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can enjoy it via the top of the device.
Sony hasn't confirmed any launch date just yet, but we are expecting the new smartphone to be unveiled sometime this year. A big chance of seeing the new device is at the IFA event in September.
