Philips introduces new smart health product ecosystem

There are a ton of fitness centric wearables and smartwatches on the market today. And while most of those try to get you back in shape, most don't have health as their main goal. That changes with Philips new line of wearables, as they are mainly health focused and even FDA approved.

The products included in the health line is the Philips Health Watch, which was announced earlier this year, as well as connected scales, a blood pressure monitor and even a ear thermometer.

Moving onto the Health Watch, it will track the users heart rate, activity and sleep patterns. This sounds like the standard smartwatch faire that we have seen before, but where it differs is when you connect it to it's own HealthSuite app, it can measure own wellbeing as well as learning how to make better lifestyle choices that is thanks to a customized program. Also included on the watch is a optical heart rate sensor and even an accelerometer that continuously and automatically measures the users biometric data. According to Philips, this will "help prevent lifestyle included chronic conditions." The watch costs $250 if you'd like to try one out for yourself.

The connected blood pressure monitor connects to the HealthSuite app, and it will cost $99.99 when it comes out, as well as the smart scale that also costs $99.99 that will calculate how much fat you have in your body. The scale even works with Withings Body Cardio and Garmin offerings. Last but not least is the smart ear thermometer will set you back $59.99.

When looking at the HealthSuite cloud based platform, it will collect information from all of the devices listed above, and will allow users to connect with doctors and psychologists that will offer personalized recommendations on setting and monitoring fitness goals. This will further let the users see how their lifestyle choices affect their health, and how they can turn it all around.

This sounds like a very interesting idea that could work out given the proper marketing. Do you agree? Let us know in the comments below on any of our social media accounts.
