Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 is here

It's finally here! If you live in the US, you can grab yours on August 19th. This year's Samsung phablet is very alike its smaller brother, the Galaxy S7, just in a much bigger, updated body. According to Engadget, both the S7 and now the Note 7 come equipped with a "Snapdragon 820 chipset, an Adreno 530 GPU, and 4GB of RAM."

The camera also clones from the S7, 12 large megapixels ready for all your snapshots. Another spec you will be excited to hear is it rocks the same "IP68 water resistant" standard as the S7 and S7 Edge, according to Engadget. The display is completely different than the S7 though. This beautiful new device packs a 5.7 inch super AMOLED display and is truly a phablet. The display is curved on both sides, which not only looks amazing but packs some extra functionality.

The Galaxy Note 7 comes with 64GB standard, but if you want to you can upgrade to up to 256GB through MicroSD. All these similarities are not bad because the S7 and S7 Edge are top of the line smartphones. The only thing the S7 Edge has on the Note 7 is the battery. The Note 7 rocks a not so small 3,500 mAh battery while the S7 Edge rocks the 3,600 mAh.

In case you're wondering, The Note 7 does have a headphone jack, but it makes the switch to USB C which is becoming more and more standard. So you're probably thinking "Ok so can I unlock it with my eyes?" The answer to that is YES, the Note 7 comes equipped with an iris scanner to you know, scan your iris'. This is kind of like when Apple announced Touch ID, it doesn't have much functionality yet, but the potential is real. I'm sure we will all be unlocking our back accounts, paying bills, etc with our eyes.

Samsung's TouchWiz interface gets cleaned up, and the S Pen also gets a small update with the addition of being water resistant. According to Engadget, this new S Pen comes with some brand new commands such as when you take the pen out it will automatically translate words to a different language, etc.

GIF's are a big part of the Note 7, you can use the S Pen to record areas of the screen and turn them into GIF's. The Note 7 looks to be a great new phone, and it may even pull some Apple fans into Samsung's world. Will you be grabbing a Note 7? Let us know in the comments below.
