Today, South Korean electronics giant Samsung has unveiled it's Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. And that's not all, the company decided to introduce a refreshed version of the Gear VR headset. This time, Samsung have revealed some solid changes to the headset. The VR headset now consists of swappable plugs that allow you to utilise either USB-C or Micro-USB Galaxy smartphones, with a clever system that lets the plugs be swapped out in a matter of seconds. Focusing on that aspect, the headset now operates on a USB-C port for "pass-through charging". What's more is that the headset also allows data transmission. Now this is a very new feature, and could pave the way for improvements in the VR industry.

Although the new Gear VR ditches the white plastic build for a now dark blue and black shell, you can easily recognise the relation between the first headset and its successor. The new design looks polished and smoother, and it even decreases the amount of light reflection from the interior near the lenses of the headset.

Looking at some of the internal elements, the touch pad on the right has been tweaked so it is now smoother and easier for users to navigate. A dedicated home button is also featured so that users can be re-directed to the main menu. Samsung's Gear VR foam padding has been improved so that it is more comfortable and suitable for your face. Even the straps have been extended to be longer and more adjustable. If you're interested in knowing the improvements of the most slightest details, the new lenses have been specifically created to offer a 101-degree field of view this time - which is better than the 96-degrees offered by the old Gear VR headset. There hasn't been any word about the headset's price tag, but we'll report any of the latest news as soon as possible.
