Google gets rid of "Together" on Android wear

Together is a feature on Android wear, which gives you control over the face of the watch and many other features. Google has decided to discontinue Together from September the 30th, but why are they getting rid of it?

Google's main excuse for getting rid of the Together is that many of its features will be built in, into android wear 2.0. Android wear 2.0 is expected to be released this Fall. This means that AW 2.0 will most probably be released around September 20th.
This means that any of the first generation Android Wear watches that will not get the AW 2.0 update will also lose Together, meaning that they lose many features that are used in daily life, such as the linking of two devices.
Personally, I can see why they would remove Together from the newer generations of Android Wear watches, but it cant hurt to leave it on the first generations. Do you agree?
