Apple's laptop market reaches for the skies thanks to the 12-inch MacBook

Apple has three laptop lines, The MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and the MacBook (12-inch). The 12-inch MacBook has brought up Apple's laptops as a whole. This June quarter according to MacRumors, Apple's laptops totaled in at 3.3 million US Dollars in sales. That is a 30% increase than the 2.5 million Apple reported in the March quarter of 2016. Why such a large increase? The MacBook.

Apple updated their prized MacBook this April and many think that's the main reason for the increase. MacRumors reports that Apple pulled ahead of some of their competitors, but is still "trailing behind PC makers Lenovo, HP, Dell, and ASUS". The image below originally from TrendForce shows that.

It looks like pretty soon the MacBook won't be the only one stealing the show. A new thinner, more powerful MacBook Pro is expected to be revealed soon. Rumors are pointing the release away from the September event, will Apple have another October event? Or will we have to wait till next year? It's all up in the air but one thing is for sure, Apple is doing well laptop wise.
