Microsoft's new Surface Book could kill the new OLED MacBook Pro
The long awaited 2016 MacBook Pro refresh can easily be summed up in a few words - Faster, sleeker and beautiful - and, according to the rumours, this refresh could be the biggest yet. But Apple isn't the only company prepping a new laptop for the end of the year, as Microsoft is also working on its much awaited second generation Surface Book.
According to Windows Central, Microsoft has a number of changes planned for this year Surface Book, among them is changing last years "innovative" hinge which got so much attention from the press and consumers. According to the rumours, Microsoft plans on incorporating a new hinge that "makes the display and keyboard flush" when closed, just like most laptops, including Apple's MacBook.
As well as the new hinge, Microsoft's new laptop will get other important upgrades such as Intel's Kaby Lake processors, second-generation USB 3.1 ports and a new graphics architecture for 4K and 3D graphics.
Unfortunately for fans, Microsoft probably won't launch the device until the end of the year, so don't expect to get your hands on the laptop until Christmas at the very earliest.
For those of you wondering, the Surface Book 2 won't be the only Windows 10 laptop from Microsoft, the company also has plans to launch the new Surface Pro 5 family, expected to include the new Kaby Lake processors and a 4K display, just like the new Surface Book.
On a final note, there are rumours regarding a third "mystery" Surface device that is expected to come in three screen sizes, including a 21-inch 1080p format, a 24-inch 4K display version and an even larger 27-inch 4K one, all of which lead us to conclude that this could be the first true iMac killer, which could possibly be called the Surface One.
